You’re probably familiar with the 2016 Hyundai Accent. It’s a mid-range, practical car that’s flexible enough to cover most tastes and preferences. The car is available as an SE Hatchback, Sedan, or even Sport design. What you might be less familiar with are this model’s wireless connectivity features, all possible thanks to Bluetooth® technology.
Bluetooth® features are available on all trim levels upon request with superior connectivity and easy configurations. As is always the prerequisite, Bluetooth® is hands-free and uses the latest technology.
Setting up Bluetooth® in Your Hyundai Accent
Start by enabling Bluetooth® on your phone. If your phone doesn’t have Bluetooth®, you’re out of luck here. Hyundai has a list of compatible phones on their support website. The car must also be in park with the main infotainment system turned on.
Next, press the setup button your Accent’s center console and wait for it to detect your phone, then select the device. After that, follow the instructions to pair your phone to your car. You’ll need to enter the passkey for your car into your phone and then wait for the pairing process to complete. If it takes longer than 3 minutes to finish, the process will be canceled and you’ll need to try again.
After your phone is paired, the car will automatically download your contact list so you can make and receive hands-free phone calls. You might get a prompt on your device to allow the car to do this, so just say “Yes.”
Making the Most of Bluetooth® in Your Hyundai
You can pair up to 5 phones to your accent at one time. If you’ve got more than one phone connected, make sure the system is set to your device when you get in the car. Otherwise you might have issues using the features.
You’ll find the phone call buttons on the car’s steering wheel. Answer and hang up using the green and red buttons, and make calls by pressing the white voice recognition button. If you aren’t sure what commands to use, just press the voice recognition button and say “Phone help.” You can also adjust call volume with the normal volume controls on the dashboard or steering wheel.
If your Accent is equipped with Bluetooth®, it’s a good idea to use it and get used to it. Hands-free phone calls means you’ve got two hands on the wheel, and you’re less likely to get distracted from the road if you don’t have to fish around for your phone when it starts ringing. You can stay in touch and stay safe.
